The Black Book.....where are we going to this month.

EAT
Superette is a cool Woodstock neighbourhood cafe brought to us by the good people behind the Neighbourgoods Market. So you can expect effortlessly hip style, market-fresh foods and a trend-setting crowd. They're open for breakfast and lunch daily, serving sandwiches, salads and baked goods, but their monthly supper clubs are what you want to get in on. They've also got a cool blog at superette.co.za.

DRINK
If you thought only New York and London had cool hole-in-the-wall coffee joints where hipsters, suits and good-looking students hung out, think again. Cape Town now has Deluxe Coffeeworks, a downtown shop the size of your bathroom where they roast fresh coffee beans and make awesome coffee. You can also buy beans (whole or ground) for home use, but it's pretty awesome sitting there watching people pass by enjoying a heavenly flat white and occasional glance at the paper.

SHOP
It's part art-space and part-shop, but haas design collective in Bo Kaap is 100% a breath of creative air for the stodgy end of Rose Street in Bokaap. Owned by artists Francois Irvine and Tess Berlein, the small space is a gallery for select pieces they like, but also displays artistic gifts and crafts. From light fittings to Tretchikoff-print cushions, there are plenty of quality intruiging and interesting pieces for anyone with an aesthetic eye.

SEE
The Fugard Theatre opened in February this year in a quiet end of District Six. Named after revered playwright, novelist and theatre personality Athol Fugard, the new theatre presents both local and international productions. They opened with The Magic Flute, currently on show is the visually captivating Aesop's Fable, but there's plenty more on the way, including next month's Waiting for Godot. Check out the upcoming schedule of plays at www.thefugard.com and support theatre talent.
